Police say a man may have been killed a week before they were called to a flat in Acton.

A murder investigation was launched after his body was found dead in a multi-occupancy residential property on the morning of Sunday, 27 January.

Police were called to the flat in Alfred Road, Acton, at 10.15am following concerns raised by a local resident.

The dead man, who was aged 34, had been stabbed. His immediate next of kin have been informed as have his extended family members in Poland.

A post mortem examination took place at Uxbridge Mortuary on Monday, 28 January and gave cause of death as haemorrhaging due to a stab injury.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, 27 January and has now been bailed to return on a date in late February.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin, are investigating.

DCI Goodwin said: “Our initial enquiries lead us to believe that the murder took place at some point in the week leading up to when he was found on Sunday.

“I would reiterate our appeal for anyone who is local to the area of Alfred Road in Acton, or anyone who was in the area last week and saw or heard anything suspicious to contact my team.”
