Two Charged in Southall Murder Investigation


Accused of stabbing 48-year-old Balbir Johal to death

Two men have been charged with the murder after a man was died from knife wounds he suffered in Southall on Monday (19 March).

Hassan Mohammed, aged 23 of Clarence Street, Southall and Yassin Yussuf, aged 21, of no fixed abode were charged in the early hours of Thursday, 22 March having earlier been arrested in West Drayton. Both will appear in custody later at Ealing Magistrates' Court.

An investigation was launched by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command after a 48-year-old man was admitted to a west London hospital suffering stab injuries at approximately 5.20pm on Monday, 19 March. He died a short time later. He was attacked at Marlborough Road, Southall, near the junction with Brent Road.

Although a formal identification has not taken place his next of kin have been informed and police have named the deceased as Balbir Johal from Slough.

A 32-year-old man arrested as part of this investigation has been released under investigation.
