Woody Grill - article on front page

The article on the front page states that the the owners of the Woody Grill restaurant on Uxbridge Road has been fined £30,000 after putting the public at risk by keeping food in  conditions.It also states Erpolat also owns six other Woody Grill restaurants across the capital and has previous convictions for similar offences in neighbouring Ealing.Two quetions.........if it is a chain of restaurants how come when one is fined for such appalling food hygiene conditions the others are not automatically flagged up, checked and then continually monitored?Also I am guessing that owners of restaurants need a licence which is issued by the Council?  If so, and there were previous convictions, how come they were not found when the licence was approved for the one in Shepherds Bush?

Who are the real owners. Who appears in court when they are charged.Name these guilty people. Yes, the group should be closed for a period as a punishment. Obviously fines do not work.

Then how come these "restaurants" are allowed to continue trading?  Walked past the Shepherds Bush one last week and it was packed.  If it was one that would be bad enough but it seems the whole chain have total disregard for food hygiene!  And no, I don't have a grudge against this particular establishment but what worries me is when Council's and Food Hygiene Inspectors come across something so potentially dangerous they allow it to continue.

The ones in Kilburn always look quite well visited. And the Acton one has lasted longet than many establishments on that site.

Drove past the one in Acton yesterday, looked quite full.  Let's hope they have been inspected!

Two very good questions.The crying shame of this is that site used to be occupied by the very excellent Verdun Restaurant. It is hard not to blame the arrival of Westfield for making it impossible for quality restaurants to continue to operate on the Uxbridge Road. That said Abu Zaad continues to be as good as ever.
