Lidl?

So, what are your thoughts on the new Shepherd's Bush Lidl? Frankly, I think it's rather a disappointment. Too small, lacking in services (ie ATMs), and not a patch on the former occupants. I doubt I'll do a weekend shop there and will instead stick with Tesco Brook Green and an occasional trip to Morrisons in Acton.I'm glad that some of the space has been taken up by a retailer. But Lidl doesn't feel like an adequate enough supermarket to service a well-established - as well as a new - clientele.Previously, Presto had the space as Lidl, then Safeway took over and expanded it and Morrisons shoe horned into that space. It's a pity another supermarket couldn't have taken up the baton after Morrisons, but perhaps the rent would have been to high.

The problem with Lidl I find, as do I assume many people, is that while they can be very good if not excellent for some items, theysimply don't carry the range in many linesas do conventional supermarkets. michael adams

I hear they are looking to expand and take up more space of the former Morrison's store....which is a good thing.

I certainly think it will help as not everybody wants to venture into a large shopping centre where for some people it can be a bit overwhelming. I am also wondering how the expansion of Westfield will effect King Street in Hammersmith?  Not for the best I think.

Yes, it's a big disappointment in my view. Tescos Brook Green is much better, and their prices are now comparable to Morrisons, although they don't have the same offers. Lidl just doesn't feel like a proper local supermarket.So, I'm afraid it's a big NO from me. But I hope it helps the centre and the other traders.

Been there twice at different times of the day and never again.  Both times I gave up, it is way too small, queues ridiculous, and I know people rave about the quality of their food but what I could see when I could get to any of the rather cluttered shelves did not look very appealing.
