Boris's important tasks

What are the five most important and vital things our new Mayor Mr Boris Johnson should do to improve the quality of life in W6/W12?

Yes Navdip, it wwould have been nice to see Oxford Street made over to pedestrians only(and cyclists like moi). Poor old Mr Livingstone had quite a few faults - not the least his becoming bedfellows with some rather dodgy characters - but he did do a some good things for London, fairs fair and credit where it's due. This time I voted for Mr Boris - let's give him a chance and a little time - maybes he'll do a few good things for us Londoners eventually. All in the fullness of time!

I agree with you, Gerry. I think Ken Livingstone had plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street, which would have been great, but I guess that's not going to happen now. It's so crowded over there that shoppers often spill off the pavements onto the roads. So dangerous!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have taken Gerry to task about his attitude before on this one, as he knows full well. I did wean him off the 'Tram(?)' idea a little while ago, so be patient with 'Meldrew', he is a brilliant contributer. Take it steady Gerry, and pour yourself a Glenfidich or two.

I have to say, I'm one of the few who welcome the Congestion Charge Zones.  And the bus lanes in London too. And the excellent pedestrianisation of parts of the capital.  It's so nice to go into the WestEnd and the City now and be able to get about quickly and safely and without that awful fraffic - I hate cars!  ;-)

No idea but I see our West Central man has been given a top job at City Hall. Does that mean he won't have time for us any more?? I'm guessing he's going to be a little busy......
