Vue cinema in W12 shopping centre

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with this cinema, seats are  comfortable and there is good leg room between rows........oh and the staff are pleasant as well.

No it's a great big shed in the Park Royale leisure development...fit for purpose but distinctly unlovely.

Park Poyale Vue is considerably cheaper - but you have to get there and Shepherd's Bush has a better schedule of movies.Like all the chains though, there is this distinct feel that the people who work there wouldn't be seen dead going to the cinema and know nothing about it. At least at the Curzons/screen/renoir the staff act as if they have been to a movie once or twice.

Ah Colin, those were the days my friend!  Remember little cheeky Mickey Rooney and a very young Judy Garland? And Spencer Tracey and Bing Crosby, Bob Hope,Dorothy Lamour, Abbot and Costello, the Marks brothers and Carmen Miranda? She had more fruit in her head dress than you'd see on a greengrocer's stall in Shepherds Bush market! They don't make 'em like that any more!Watch it at the back there...who said "Thank goodness"!

Yes Gerry, Friday night at the Gaumont or Odeon Acton,walking back along Acton Vale in the Blackout, with, if you were lucky, The Moon to guide you. One Shilling (5p)each, and two feature films plus a Newsreel for all that. I can smell the bread baking at Acton Bakeries now!!Bit dangerous to do that now I guess at that time of night even with the street lights on.

Much cheaper then the West End, it does depend on the time you go but I went to the early showing of Sex and the City on Wed and only paid £6.30......and if you have an Orange network phone on a Wednesday they do a special offer where you can get a two for one offer, just go onto the Orange website for the details.

I think it's about 10 or 12 quid, isn't it? I went to the Notting Hill Gate cinema recently and that was a tenner. I almost fell over backwards when the cashier asked me for the money.

How much is it for a seat in a comfy cinema to see a new(fairly) film these days?  I remember paying 1s/9d for a seat in mid-stalls in the late 40s/early 50s. And we used to Q for sometimes an hour before getting in to the cinema. We used to call it "going to the pictures"!  Happy days.  ;-)
