Pricy flicks?

Am I mean/older/out of touch...just because I think £8.10 is a lot to pay for a matinee performance on a Sunday afternoon at Shepherds Bush Vue. There were only about half a dozen people in too - maybe the prices or possibly because the man taking the tickets said warningly as we went in "It is in French you know" as if that were enough to put us off for good...but then he added "the language of lurve" so maybe I misjudged him. Because of some experience at an ecnomic regulator and more down to my son's A level economics course, I am getting to grips with price elasticity of demand. ie if you charge less, more people might turn up. I wonder if Vue have clobbered that? It would seem not.

And if you remember to pick up the voucher you can then get £1.50 off the next visit - but only if you visit a Vue in the following fortnight which, as I have eclectic tastes and BAFTA membership, I don't often do.

Yes, it's really expensive. But I seem to remember that if you go to Lastminute.com you can sometimes find cheap cinema tickets. I think they're only for the same day, though, so you can't really plan ahead.
