Plans for Shepherd's Bush Green

Having had a chance to look at the draft plans, the thing that struck me hardest was the plan to remove all the mature trees. Did I understand correctly?While I would agree with the replacement of a small handful of trees that make parts of the the Green gloomy, replacing them all will remove valuable shade in summer and the windbreak effect in winter.Or have I mis-understood?

I think you can remain condident that mature trees will be preserved.  Judging by the perspective and axonometric scheme drawings by Whitelaw+Turkington, the landscape consultants, the canopies and perimeter screening will be maintained.  Maybe some trees will go, eg. to the east of the War Memorial and diseased ones, but the overall parkland ambiance will be maintained.
