Shepherds Bush C/Line Station Lift provision
I note in the Evening Standard a piece regarding the provision of a lift at the temporaly defunct Central Line Station. Apparently the Lift itself would cost about £1 Million, but there is a little matter of the removal of a large amount of Utilities (Gas, Water etc)which would add another £10 Million to the cost, which is making TFL etc gip at the vast extra amount. Now it is many years since I used that Station, and as far as I remember there were just two escalators. I can only think that the idea of having such a lift is tied in with the anticipated large volumes of passengers envisaged with the coming of the much vaunted Westfield. Surely though you would have to provide escalators as well. A lift breakdown would be rather an 'Egg on Face' situation otherwise! !
