I cycled past today -- en route to an interminable BBC meeting - and the entrance all along Wood Lane looked nearly ready to go....but the place is still crammed with road works and quite difficult to navigate.

Credit crunch doesn't seem to have done anything to dampen the enthusiasm of shoppers in Oxford Street. Whenever I've been there recently I've had to wait ages in queues to try things on and then ages again to pay. Mind you, Whiteley's in Bayswater has been looking a little empty of late.

Egg on face maybe?? We shall see. Any ideas what to use the site for if it fails??

Lots of angst in the Standard today about the expected levels of traffic totally clogging up the roads of west London.Given the credit crunch, I suppose everyone might just stay at home.

I can't quite tell but I get the feeling people have been pulling off the 'Market' signs on the platform as the word was covered up before. I think people have been picking at them and I'm sure I saw one man at it the other day. Has anybody else noticed?

Thank you Colin, yes it is going to be all change round here over the next few months.

Welcome back Carol. Yes in those far off days, visiting the Market with my Mother, used to look up and see the trains stopping at the station right at the Uxbridge Road end.So I suppose it fits!

And Shepherds Bush station on the Hammersmith line has apparently been renamed to Shepherds Bush Market.
Due to open on October 30th, as far as I know. They seem to be working flat out as every time I walk past there (Sundays, evenings etc.), there's something going on.
