Permission to pave over front gardens

Glad to see it won't be so easy to get rid of gardens.  Green space should be nurtured, not destroyed.  Still am appalled as to what a house in Dalling Road, opposite the Thatched House pub, did to their front garden a couple of years ago.  It was so nice, lovely conifer hedges..........and what was it replaced with.....a 6ft high breeze block wall, beige wall that looks more like a prison exercise yard!

There has been a massive amount of paving over of front gardens in London over the last few years. This is a result of the widespread introduction of controlled parking zones. Apparently the worst hit area has been Richmond where they introduced punitive charges for larger cars. The impact on the water table has been significant.
