Purim

Looking for a place to celebrate Purim with your family? Ealing Liberal Synagogue welcomes any and all families to services on 7 March. SaraRed building north side of the green, now a Chinese Christian community church. Quite a few churches in W6 have had histories of changing sects, but this is one of the few to change religion.  The number attending the synagogue just got too low.Dan

Didn't know there was one there. Mostly they don't shout about it for fear of standing out. I go to a huge one in central London but you wouldn't know it was there - unless you did.

I think it a pity there is no external sign on what was for many years the synagogue on Brook Green to show that is what it was. The history of past synagogues should not just be effaced.

Oh well, if you want to do it on the proper night: tomorrow night - Monday 9th - 1800 - West London Synagogue, near Marble Arch. Megillah reading and Purimspiel followed by louche-sounding party.

ELS traditionally celebrates the "smaller" festivals on the Saturday closest to the holiday to enable more families to attend without necessitating days off from work and school.
