Nature-lovers anxious over plans for major new development

Found this from the homepage under the item re What will W12 look like in 12 years........"Local conservationists say they are extremely concerned about the Council’s plans to build a substantial new development in the Wormwood Scrubs area.  Plans are being drawn up by Hammersmith and Fulham Council and Network Rail to create a mixed-use, 60-acre “mega development” on the site to the north of the Wormwood Scrubs nature reserve, to include thousands of new homes, as well as shops, businesses and possibly even a Crossrail station"I think I know whereabouts this is but once again it seems like nature may be pushed aside for money.

I have no idea either - surely the land referred to cannot be south of the tracks. Candidates may be the railway land to the northwest off Old Oak Common Lane, where there is land aplenty, but quite high up and it will be very visible from afar like the blocks at North Acton. Or adjoining the canal to the right of Scrubs Lane just north of the tracks.The other possibility is that the Eurostar carriage cleaning sheds could go and a development go there.  If this occurred, this would be a major scandal as thel and was appropriated by Act of PArliament from Wormwood Scrubs in the national interest ot create the eurostar depot, and by any justcie should be restored to Wormwood Scrubs in the event of disconitnuation. Does any raiway buff know whether the carriages now going to St.Pancras International instead of Waterloo are still cleaned and engines services at North Pole Depot?Can Councillor Cowan perhaps enlighten us as to what he suspects the Tories are planning, and whether their plans are in the public domain anywhere?
