What does Savoy Circus shopping zone need to perk it up?
What does the Savoy Circus shopping zone, both north and south of Westway, need to perk it up? Clearly no shopping outlet - with one obvious exception - there will have any prospect of adequate parking so it has to operate primarily for local foot traffic and for those using public transport. Should it be accepted that it cannot compete as a primary shopping area, i.e. that the majority of shoppers will go do their main food buy elsewhere, and so focus only on secondary shopping, whatever that is? Does the market need any prodding or will this shopping zone naturally find its own level unassisted? I wonder if anyone at all from outside the area shops there, and if so for what (leave out estate agents, where obviously those looking for properties in this area will come to this area to look at estate agent windows).
