DawnApologies if I sounded hostile, it was just that talking of the effects "developments in Shepherds Bush have had on local access to public space" seemed curiously phrased and not in contact with what the developments locally have beenThe biggest development in the last 30 years in my opinion as been the transformation of the west side of Shepherds Bush green into a high-drinking neighborhoood, especially at Walkabout. There as always been a lot of drinking in the neighbourhood but it is now noisier and spills out onto the pavements more. I regret the passing of the cinemas. The green was never used in the evening much, it lacks the calm of say Primrose hill, to say nothing of lacking any view! Traffic flows make it less and less accessible. Many promises of better landscaping have not taken off.Westfield has had no impact on public access to open space so far as I am aware. It has caused the 272 to no longer begin its route outside W12 Shopping Centre, to my intense annoyance! Westfield has not, in my view, taken off as an evening restaurant venue - too many of the places are much of a muchness, none are of the kind that gets you travelling there purposefully, none are visible from the road and all, I think, are part of wider chains. No sense of the proprietor touch. I wonder who will be first to pull the parachute cord.
