We went tonight - nine of us - and the fish and chips were very good - so was the grilled Dover Sole (my favourite). Large fishes in matzah meal or batter with loads of excellent chips.Only my son had room for pudding (starving gap-year student determined to OD on all the things you don't find in the Middle East) He thought the bread & butter pudding with custard (not a staple east of Suez) pretty good and owned himself full at the end - which was an achievement. So many thanks Carol - the site done good

There's a new one in Acton - the Atlantic of Churchfield Road - which those who have tried it seem to rate - though the chips are sometimes marginally undercooked.

I agree and it's also under new management and had a face lift!

Have not had fish and chips for ages but when I did always found the fish bar in Askew Road very good, not the one near Becklow Road, the one in the same block as the Co-Op food store.
