The Problem: Residents that live next to Westfield have to put up with accepting life as a car park for Westfield, and that means car doors slamming at all hours, stereos blaring, taxis, chauffeurs, coaches hovering and hooting, boots slamming, idiots telling into mobiles all night. oh yeah, and if you are a resident you can never park your own car!! To extend the opening hours for the cinema and gym and grant the looney licensing would make the measures the council has just provided for residents far less than adequate. There will be live streaming of events so that they will hold sporting events from the other side of the world, for example, in the small hours; and then attendees come back, hollering, and slam their car doors in residential streets at three in the morning. It is not on! It has been bad enough when NEXT holds its sales, one of which had people arriving (and parking; plus half the time it is the staff!) to queue at 4am!! Currently the parking is a nightmare as the Christmas obsession with "stuff" goes on. Westfield had to close its full car park on Sunday afternoon and the effect back on to the Green and Wood Lane was grid lock. guess where people look as an alternative to park! Forgive me if I sound cross... it is because I am.
