Old Shepherd's Bush Library

Does ANYONE know what's happening with the old building? There's a notice outside promising to turn it into a sort of local history centre.  So far, all I've seen are a couple evening drinks dos, no doubt held for the community of Bush Theatre lovvies.And while I'm on the subject: I positively detest the new library and think that we've been shortchanged by its whole concept.  It's a souless place, lacking in innovative design and user friendliness.

Forgive my philistine ignorance... but a design award, for that?! It's a joke.  For a relatively modern library, with a sympathetic exterior, you can't really fault Kensington Library, just off Kensington High Street.But I guess we'll just have to live with what we now have.

Glad to see someone else misses the old library and totally agree that the new library has no character.  The old library could have been done up rather then gone to waste.  It was a lovely building.  However, did you hear that it won some sort of award for its brilliant design????  Who decides these things anyway - not the local people I am sure!

It seems to be an archive for old theatre scripts and the Bush theatre has residence, I believe

Funny, I walk passed it all the time and see nothing much going on.  The sign on the gate promises something exciting for the local community - I don't think the community is much aware of anything that is open to all.Basically, the building looks sad and abandonded, which precisely what it has become.  C'est triste.

The Bush theatre has been holding plays and events there. Anyone can buy a ticket ... not just lovvies.
