Westfield is set to apply for planning application this autumn.

The whole of Shepherds Bush is set to expand. The White City Opportunity Area is huge.In addition, the area reaches as far south as the BBC car park which borders Macfarlane Road with clear consequences. You get JL online too. Think I want more than a promise of a John Lewis when I can get to the one on Oxford Street just by jumping on a 94 bus or central tube for 15-20 mins.

I so agree on all counts Mat.But a JL practically on the doorstep? that would be valuable.

Why would they? Because people come from all around London to spend an entire day shopping at Westfield, therefore JL is missing out on this business.Personally I couldn't think of anything worse than travelling from miles around to a shopping mecca. That said, a JL would be a welcome thing here...

And the Brent Cross and Oxford Street branches are both only 20 mins away - so why would they?

Sara, I wish, but do NOT fall for this 'John Lewis' carrot!  Westfield (I assume it was them) originally dangled it when the Westfield centre was first announced, but as the site neared completion it emerged that JL had no intention of opening there for fear of taking business from its nearby branch in Sloane Square, Peter Jones.  Developers do this kind of thing.I'd be happy to be wrong about this, though...

Northwards is where. The site up to the A40 is up for "regeneration". Thousands of flats also in the pipeline it is rumoured around the white city tube area, Meanwhile the old Odeon on the Green moulders.http://www.whitecitydevelopment.co.uk/It is a large area, don'tchya think?

If they get a John Lewis I might actually visit for more than a feast of Wagamama.Haven't found another really good reason to spend much time there yet.

Just wondering which "adjacent site" they are referring too?  Trying to think of the surrounding area and the only area I can think of is where the warehouses are?
