It's true monopolistic Tesco did not need planning consent for change of use to trade out of the former pub [consent was required for extension work and flats above]. This is a quirk of planning law - effectively a pub is retail already. I do know that the H&F Planning Approvals Committee and officers find this very frustrating!SO: lobby MP? To protect existing retailers, let's speak with our feet. [I know I'm perfect but..] I love not to shop at Sainsbury's Local [ho! ho!] if purchase is available elsewhere in Askew Rd and look forward to never shopping at Tesco, now fitting out.Think " Big Society, buy Smaller " ?Richard 'Meldrew' ScottPS: Anyway, community-owned Coop is more than competitive price wise than JS and our bread/wine/convenience traders are between them greatly superior in range, quality, service and often price!
