Plus ca change...!

Article on this site - "This service, which runs from Clapham Junction to Stratford, the home of the Olympic Games via Willesden Junction, is part of a planned orbital suburban rail service."Is it just me or do you throw up your hands and ask why the Broad street line was ever allowed to be taken away?? (Hence the now Broadgate Centre). Seems that we are no having to replace what was there decades ago.

"Is it just me or do you throw up your hands and ask why the Broad street line was ever allowed to be taken away??"Yes, although it's important to recall that at the time the political mood in the country was both anti-city and anti-rail.  It needed both to change (London getting its own government back, for one) to enable the line's reinstatement.What's there now is substantially better than the 1986 state of affairs, too.
