Low level street lighting

Has anyone else noticed how dark the streets are now?  Is this another cost cutting exercise by lbhf? I can barely see the people until they're right in front of me. I realise London suffers from light pollution, but surely personal safety is should take precedent? Or am I just imagining it?

Atwood Road in Hammersmith has had some new street lighting erected, not sure if this is the same thing that you are referring too but the light seems to be directed downwards more.  Actually I think it looks quite nice, not as harsh.
