Fulham Court Community Rallies Round Neighbour Following Fire

Crowdfunding page launched to support Roy and his family of cats

The community at Fulham Court Estate, off Fulham Road, is rallying around a much loved neighbour and his cats after a fire in the block destroyed most of his belongings and the interior of his flat.

They have launched a crowdfunding page at gofundme to support Roy and his family of cats and help him to rebuild his life.

Daisy Downs, who launched the gofundme page, says: "We are raising money for our neighbour Roy from Fulham Court who unfortunately has lost all his possessions and his home due to a fire above him which has caused his house to be flooded out.

"As a neighbour we have let Roy move in with us. The council have been around and have explained they have to pull the whole of his house out and rebuild everything.

"This won’t come overnight and we are looking at around four to six weeks at this current moment in time. Roy had a female cat and three new born one week old kittens in the house where unfortunately they can no longer stay. I also cannot look after them as I have my own cat."

The cat and kittens are currently being looked after by a local vet until they can be reunited with their owner.

Daisy adds: " Roy has done so much for us kids growing up growing up and is one of us, so I kindly ask with all my love if you would help to donate.

"Anything would be appreciated and I’m sure Roy will be overwhelmed with the generosity."

Roy's neighbours are aiming to raise £1,800 and local people have already raised over £1,000. If you would like to help, you can make a donation here.
