Man Falls On Tracks After Barons Court Tube Station Assault


Arrest made for attempted murder after incident on platform

The thirty year old man was reportedly assaulted before he fell onto the tracks at around 11.15pm but he got back onto the platform before a train arrived and suffered only minor injuries.

The station was cleared and closed for a period while emergency services attended the scene.

British Transport Police issued a statement saying, “Police were quickly on scene and a man (no further details at present) was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been taken to custody as enquiries continue.

“The victim, a man in his thirties, has been taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries, they were thankfully not struck by a train.

“A number of enquiries are underway to establish what happened and the circumstances leading to the victim being on the tracks.
