The Big Screens Are Back at Television Centre


Enjoy a free screening of Carmen from the Royal Opera House on 2 July

 

The BP Big Screens are back in the forecourt of Television Centre in Wood Lane, offering a chance to enjoy free broadcasts of some of the world’s most popular operas and ballets live from the Royal Opera House.

Local people are invited to bring friends and a picnic and soak up free culture – and to get there early for the exclusive pre-performance content, 30 minutes before curtain-up.

In July, there will be two Royal Opera BP Big Screen performances at Television Centre. They are:

The Royal Opera - Carmen
Tuesday 2 July at 7pm, with pre-screening at 6.30pm

Bizet's greatest opera tells the story of the enigmatic and seductive Carmen and the dangerous passion she arouses in Don José. Watch The Royal Opera’s fresh take on this much-loved opera, complete with flamenco dancers, bull fighters – and a gorilla – all in a free live screening from the Royal Opera House. The Royal Opera - The Marriage of Figaro
Tuesday 9 July at 7pm, with pre-screening at 6.30pm

Revolution is in the air in The Royal Opera’s beautiful production of Mozart's great comic opera. Colourful characters mix with intrigue, misunderstanding and forgiveness in a multitude of dramatic twists. White City is open to all, with free entry on a first come first served basis. Please feel free to bring cushions and blankets for your comfort. There will be food and drinks available from local premises; alternatively, please feel free to bring your own picnic. All litter should be disposed of in bins provided or taken home. Please dress appropriately for the anticipated weather conditions. Children must be accompanied by adults.
