Search is On for Love Local Heroes

Know someone who is making an extraordinary contribution to our community?

Nominations are now open for Shepherd's Bush Housing Group's #LoveLocalHero Award 2016, giving west Londoners the opportunity to get recognition for their local community hero.

Love Local Hero is being run with Hammersmith and Fulham Volunteer Centre. It is a new community honour bestowed by the Group.

The award is open to people who live or work in west London. They recognise the extraordinary commitment, dedication and effort that some members of the local community make, either in their field or working towards a particular goal.

Russell Caller, chair of SBHA board said, “These awards are the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate the unsung heroes of our west London community. It recognises those who make a real difference to the community and the community a better place for everyone. It only a takes a couple of minutes to nominate and I would encourage anyone who may know a local hero to put them forward for this worthy award."

Catherine Perez Phillips, volunteer services manager, Hammersmith & Fulham Volunteer Centre said,“It's brilliant that Shepherds Bush Housing Group is putting on this award to champion those who make important contributions to our local communities. These heroes deserve recognition for making our communities even more special.”

Local Heroes is open NOW for nominations, and will close on 28 April 2016. Three winners will be selected by a community awards panel, including Russell Caller and Catherine Perez Phillips.

Nomination forms can be completed online here. You can also request a form by emailing group.info@sbhg.co.uk or Love.Local@sbhg.co.uk. Completed forms can be emailed back to SBHG or posted to Mulliner House, Flanders Road, W4 1NN. Please include a recent photo of the nominee if you can.

Winners will receive a certificate, a £40 gift voucher and a personalised mug. They will also feature on SBHG's website to record their achievement for posterity. If you nominate someone you will get a Love Local goodie pack, the person you nominate will also get a Love Local goodie pack. Winners will be invited along to a special celebration event in May 2016.
