Want To Start Cycling To Work?

Join Cycle Fridays for a healthy and fun route to the office

Residents who want to start cycling to work can join the free group commuter ride which will be heading off into Trafalgar Square from Ravenscourt Park tube station every Friday morning from 14 August to 2 October. (Please note that you must be over 18 to join these rides).

TfL are working with London Cycling Campaign to deliver Cycle Fridays. Leaving at 8.00am, four marshals will cycle with the group, making sure you arrive comfortably and safely.

Please allow an hour for your journey, once you have learnt the route you can look forward to speeding up your commute.

When you've made it to work, your marshal will give you advice about going solo on the way home.

What to bring
All you have to bring is your bike. You can bring a helmet if you prefer. A marshal will give it the once-over to make sure it's road worthy.
You'll get a free London Cycle Guide.

En-route support
If you need further advice on the day about checking your bike, safety or any other cycling matter, just ask your marshal.

LCC marketing manager Lucy Cooper said, "This is a real opportunity to get more novice cyclists on their bikes. We're really pleased to be working with TfL on the BikeTubes, an idea that originated within LCC."

Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said, "Whether it's Monday, Wednesday or Sunday I tend to go by bike but, although it is safe and getting safer, I fully appreciate that some people find it a little daunting at first.

"Cycle Fridays are a brilliantly simple way of giving thousands of commuters the confidence to get cycling. I’m sure when they see how much of a fun, healthy and convenient experience it can be, they'll be hooked."
