Gunnersbury Park has been given £187,795 by Arts Council England in the latest disbursement from the Culture Recovery Fund.
It is the second time the Community Interest Company which manages the part has been awarded funding from the programme which aims to provide support to arts and heritage organisations recovering from the effects of the pandemic. In a previous round it received £367,365 from the £1.2 billion fund.
The CIC says that the money is essential to its survival and will be invested to ensure its operations become more sustainable .
CEO David Bowler said, "We are delighted to receive this essential support which will underpin our recovery from the impact of the pandemic."
Darren Henley, Chief Executive, Arts Council England, said, ‘This continued investment from the Government on an unprecedented scale means our theatres, galleries, music venues, museums and arts centres can carry on playing their part in bringing visitors back to our high streets, helping to drive economic growth, boosting community pride and promoting good health. It’s a massive vote of confidence in the role our cultural organisations play in helping us all to lead happier lives.’
The fund is supporting around 5000 individual organisations and sites across the country ranging from local museums to West End theatres, grassroots music venues to festivals, and organisations in the cultural and heritage supply-chains.
