Independent health and social care group to review merits of change
Changes to the way healthcare is provided in Hammersmith and Fulham will be the focus of a community event to be hosted by Hammersmith & Fulham Local Involvement Network (H&F Link), an independent body which monitors health and social care services in the borough.
The community healthcare event, which will be held on September 28 from 10am to 4pm in the Main Hall, Irish Centre, Blacks Road in Hammersmith, will give local people the opportunity to share their views about proposed changes to the NHS and the move to community-based services.
In July, the NHS published a set of White Papers under the umbrella title of Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS which set out plans for radical reform of the NHS and social care.
The community event will give local people the opportunity to find out much more about the proposals in the White Paper. During the morning H&F Link will run a series of small group consultation workshops, starting at 10am. Lunch will be provided and will be followed at 2pm by a panel discussion, led by Jeff Zitron, chair of H&F Primary Care Trust (PCT).
Earlier in September, H&F Link organised an audience with Sarah Whiting, Managing Director of NHS H&F at which she stated that in future, patients are to be at the heart of everything with extended choice and increased information to give far greater access to clinical and patient experience data to support choice.
Come along on September 28 and help to create a Hammersmith & Fulham community response to the consultation, which ends in early October 2010.
