Campaigners Unite For Rally Against Third Runway

At a rally in central London on 3rd March

Wandsworth Council leader Ravi Govindia will be among the speakers addressing a major rally against Heathrow expansion to be staged in central London on Tuesday 3 March.

The event is being organised by campaign group HACAN and will be held in Church House Conference Centre, a venue which holds nearly 700 people, in Great Smith Street, starting at 7pm and finishing at 9pm.

The list of speakers includes MPs, councilors and MEPs from across the political spectrum, all of whom will come together to show the strength of opposition to a new Heathrow runway.

The CEOs of Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth will also take part.

Ravi Govindia said: “This event will show the full force that stands united against the plans to expand Heathrow. We want the next Government to accept the fact that a third runway is not going to happen and for all the right reasons.”

HACAN chair John Stewart said, “This rally is intended to send a clear message to the next Government: a third runway at Heathrow is politically undeliverable. The opposition remains huge. It is a cross-party movement with widespread popular support.”

The event is free to attend. There is limited capacity so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
