A* For Latymer Following GCSE Results

Incoming head David Goodhew "excited" by 6th form prospects

GCSE candidates at Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith are today celebrating results which, even by the School’s already high standards, are exceptional.

Just over 90% of grades were at A*/A, with 63% of those being A*.

All pupils achieved the national benchmark of 5 A*-C grades, and a staggering 113 gained at least 5 A* grades; 62 pupils were awarded 8 or more A* grades, 22 of whom had 10 or more A* grades.

Incoming Head David Goodhew commented:
“I warmly congratulate our pupils, and their teachers, on these superb results. ‘Record-breaking’ is an overused phrase in the context of exams, let alone in an Olympic year, but how else can one describe such impressive, and richly deserved, success? I am very excited by the prospect of what they will accomplish in our Sixth Form.”

The results come a week after Latymer sixth formers celebrated another record year of outstanding results at A-Level, matching last year’s all-time high and with record numbers taking four or more full A-Levels.
