Transport Disruption This Weekend


Train and tube services affected by engineering works

If you are planning to travel over the next few weekends the following lines are affected by engineering works.

South West Trains

Saturday 11 February

Some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction and about half of London Waterloo station will be closed all day Saturday for maintenance and renewal work.

  • All services which normally pass through Twickenham, Hounslow or Staines will not run between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.
  • The circular service to and from London Waterloo via Brentford and via Twickenham will not run. Passengers use other train services.
  • Passengers travelling from Clapham Junction to Vauxhall and London Waterloo should use train services from platform 10.
  • Queenstown Road station will have no service and passengers should use other stations nearby.

Sunday 12 February

Some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction, also all lines in the Barnes area will be closed all day Sunday for maintenance and renewal work. Part of London Waterloo station will also be closed and many trains will leave London Waterloo from different platforms to normal - please check displays at station. All South West Trains services will use platforms 5-8 at Vauxhall and 7-11 at Clapham Junction.

Queenstown Road station will have no service and passengers should use other stations nearby.

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Reading will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, calling at Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • An hourly train service will run between London Waterloo and Windsor and will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, calling at all stations via Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • An hourly stopping train service will run between Richmond and Windsor via Twickenham.
  • The “Kingston Loop” service and the extra Sunday afternoon and evening services to Kingston via Hounslow will not run. Passengers use other altered train services and the replacement buses.
  • Replacement bus services will run between Clapham Junction and Twickenham to connect with the above train services.
  • Trains to and from Woking via Hounslow and Staines will start from / terminate at Kew Bridge.
  • Replacement bus services will run between Clapham Junction and Kew Bridge.
  • The extra late afternoon and evening services between London Waterloo and Salisbury will not run. This does not affect the regular hourly service on this route.

The Chessington branch will be serviced by buses from Wimbledon until late afternoon and trains from Wimbledon for the remainder of the day.

District Line

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February

No service between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road, or between Earl's Court and
Kensington Olympia.

On Sunday only, a replacement bus service will operate Earl's Court - Kensington (Olympia) - West Kensington - West Brompton - Earl's Court.

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February

No service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill. A special Circle line service operates between Edgware Road and Barking (via Victoria)

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February

No service throughout the entire line. Use
the Circle line between Hammersmith and Liverpool Street

London Tramlink

From Saturday 11 until Sunday 19 February

There will be no London Trams service between Wimbledon and Mitcham due to planned engineering works. Replacement bus services will operate. Customers travelling between the Croydon area and Wimbledon may find it easier to use National Rail services

Piccadilly line engineering works

No planned engineering works

Central Line Weekend Engineering works

No planned engineering works
