Fancy Some Wild Swimming in the Thames?

Event starting at London Corinthian Sailing Club

The Totally Thames Festival which runs throughout September will include a wild swim in the river this year for the first time.

The event will be based at London Corinthian Sailing Club, Upper Mall, Hammersmith and will take place at high tide on Thursday 3rd September with swimmers entering the water at the steps by the Black Lion for a course around Chiswick Eyot.

It will not be a race and there will be no prize for being the fastest. Slower swimmers will plunge in first at 6.20 p.m. with the faster ones a few minutes later.

All swimmers will receive a souvenir swim cap. Swimmers should expect to be in the water for about half an hour and wetsuits will definitely be allowed.

Tickets (£5) are now on sale at the Black Lion. Further details from greatriverswim@blueyonder.co.uk.
