An Evening With June Whitfield

Macmillan Cancer Support play host to much loved actress

The Chiswick Committee of Macmillan Cancer Support are hosting an evening with June Whitfield at Latymer Upper School, King Street, W6 on Friday 8th October 2010.

In a fifty-six-year career spanning Take It From Here to Absolutely Fabulous, June Whitfield's presence in a show has always been a hallmark of quality.

From Shakespeare to Carry On films, from Penge rep to the Palladium, there is hardly a theatre or studio where she hasn't appeared and in the process acquired a wonderfully funny backstage tale to tell.

During those 56 years she worked with great comics from Tony Hancock, Jimmy Edwards, Ronnie Barker, Terry Scott and Frankie Howerd to Roy Hudd, Julian Clary and Jennifer Saunders.

Since writing her autobiography in 2000 June Whitfield has performed, among other things, with Dame Judi Dench in The Last of the Blonde Bombshells, David Tennant in Dr Who and those 'old gentlemen' in Last of the Summer Wine. She has certainly become one of our greatest national treasures.
