Immersive stage version of the iconic film visits as part of a UK tour
Trainspotting is in London for three weeks
An immersive production of Trainspotting Live, based on Irvine Welsh’s seminal book Trainspotting, will be performing the London leg of its UK tour at the Riverside Studios.
Described by the author as better that his own book or the globally successful film based on it, the 75 minute production aims to recapture their passion and controversy.
The audience are literally part of the show, including the notorious “Worst Toilet in Scotland” scene.
Trainspotting is the story of Mark Renton and his friends, living through the Edinburgh heroin scene of the 80s. Harry Gibson’s original stage adaptation, written before it became the famous blockbuster film, was instantly successful and controversial, and won the Sunday Times Award for Best New Play.
In Your Face Theatre’s Scottish cast will be in Hammersmith for a three-week run from Tuesday 18 October to Sunday 6 November.
There are performances at 7.30pm on Tuesday to Thursday and 6pm on Friday to Sunday with 7.45pm performances on Fridays and Saturdays.
Tickets cost either £32 or £25 or £20 for concessions and are available to purchase online.
Irvine Walsh says he prefers the stage version to the book and the film
The box office number is 020 8237 1010
The production contains nudity, strong language, sex, violence, and drug/needle use and is recommended for over 16s only.
