Your Guide to H &F's First Arts Festival


Highlights of this week's events in Shepherd's Bush

Hammersmith and Fulham's first Arts Festival began on Sunday June 8, and there is now a week of non-stop activity through till June 15, with over 100 events and 270 artists taking part and more still being added to the programme.

The festival features visual arts, literary events, music, performing arts and film at venues across the borough, including dozens of events around Shepherd's Bush at venues including the Bush Theatre, Bush Hall, The Grove in Hammersmith Grove and Shepherd's Bush Library.

Here are some of the highlights of the week's events:

Shepherd's Bush Portraits - Digital artist Bud Merryweather exhibits portraits of local people at The Bush Theatre from 9am till 11pm throughout the week

Creating Art on an iPad - Bud will also show local people how to produce painted and drawn images on an iPad with two FREE workshops! Please bring an iPad with the (free) art Apps `Zen Brush' and 'Brushes 3' downloaded
to Shepherds Bush Library on Wednesday June11, 2pm - 4pm

Artists at Home 2014 takes place June 13- 15, with 70 artists over three square miles showing a wide range of disciplines and styles including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass. For more information visit www.artistsathome.net

Fred Mugford presents a solo show at Brackenburys coffee shop on Askew Road from 6 June - 26 July 2014 displaying his colourful and idiosyncratic view of the world, daily until July 26.

Music and TV themed walking tours - If you watched British TV or listened to pop music during the second half of the twentieth century, then your cultural DNA was forged in Shepherds Bush.

Music and TV themed walking tours led by Adrian Bray. The Rock and Roll tour is on Monday 9 June @ 7pm / Wednesday 11 June @7 pm and Saturday 14 June @ 10 am, starting at 205 Goldhawk Road.

The TV Tour is on Tuesday 10 June @ 7pm / Thursday 12 June @ 7pm / Sunday 15 June @ 2pm

Bush Hall, Friday 13 June - Sounds Perfect presents Way Out West. Nemone is a mum of two. She is also BBC 6 Music DJ. Sounds Perfect presents Way Out West is a night of cocktails and dancing for those of us old enough to know better.

Bushstock, Saturday 14 June. Bush Hall is hosting Bushstock, along with St Stephens Church, the Defectors Weld and the Sindercombe Social, presenting over 30 bands playing from lunchtime till late, including Blaenavon, Chlöe Howl, Eaves, Jack Garratt, The Felice Brothers and Sundara Karma.
