Rubbish and Recycling

Hammersmith and Fulham Council is holding four composting events across the borough to encourage more residents to recycle their food and garden waste.

These evening workshops aim to promote home composting residents attending them are offered a composter worth £39 and delivery for free.

The events will have home composting advisers on hand who can advise on how to get started, what to put in your composter, how to use your compost and how to avoid common problems.

Composting bins will not be given on the night - instead voucher codes will be given to residents on the night so that they can order their free compost bin to be delivered to their door.

The council says composting is not only a simple way to reduce the amount of garden and food waste thrown in the bin, it also saves the council – and ultimately residents – £138 for every ton of waste that is not sent to landfill.
