H&F Council Seeking Electoral Canvassers

Residents can earn GBP500 in their spare time

Residents who are interested in the democratic process and would like to earn up to £500 in their spare time should apply to become an electoral canvasser.

Every year Councils are required to compile the electoral register in the annual canvass. A registration form is sent to each household in the borough and residents are asked to return a completed form to the Town Hall.

The Council employs canvassers to visit households that have not returned a form to make sure that as many people as possible are on the electoral register. The work will take place from the middle of August to early November 2010 and you will earn around £500.

Previous experience of canvassing or working with the public is desirable but not essential. It would also be useful if you spoke one of the many languages used in the borough besides English.

Electoral services at H&F can be contacted on 020 8753 4466 (Mon - Fri 9am - 8pm) or by email - electoral.services@lbhf.gov.uk.
