Motorcycles and e-scooters Banned from Thames Path
Restrictions introduced from Chiswick Mall to Chelsea Harbour

New restrictions have been introduced by Hammersmith and Fulham Council on the use of motorised transport on the Thames Path.
A Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) has been put in place which bans motorcycles and e-scooters, as well as segways, quad bikes and hoverboards on the riverside footway between Miller’s Court on Chiswick Mall to Chelsea Harbour in Sands End.
Pedal bikes and electrically assisted pedal bikes will continue to be allowed.

The council says it made the move after a public consultation to which over 1,200 responses were received and 70% of respondents backed restrictions on motorised transport.
31.8% of respondents supported a ban on cycling and so the council decided not to include pedal bikes in the restrictions as its policy is to support active travel.
Pedal cyclists are not included in the ban
The PSPO came into force on 18 October and will last for a period of 3 years. There are a number of exemptions to the ban, including for disabled people and people with long-term health conditions who use motorized vehicles as mobility aids, and for parents or caregivers using motorised bikes to transport children.
“The new regulations will help prevent inconsiderate behaviours and prioritise pedestrian safety along this beautiful riverside pathway,” said Cllr Rebecca Harvey, Cabinet Member for Community Safety & Social Inclusion.
