Man Charged with Jaabe Roberts Murder


Karl Lashley of Askew Road to appear in court tomorrow

A 44 year old man has been charged with the murder of Jaabe Roberts. Karl Lashley, aged 44, of Askew Road was arrested yesterday in Fulham. He will appear tomorrow (Saturday 19th June) in custody at West London Magistrate's Court

He was the seventh person to be arrested in connection with the killing with three people having been released without charge and another three bailed to return at a later date.

A 36 year old man was arrested on Tuesday (15th June) in Battersea. He was being detained in a South London police station. A 34 year old man was arrested the day before at a caravan park in West Sussex.

28 year-old Jaabe was fatally stabbed in Askew Road in Shepherd's Bush in the early hours of 9th June.

Police believe he had been at a nearby address in Askew Road when he was stabbed, before making his way out into the street.

After being found by a member of the public, he was taken by ambulance to a west London hospital where he died shortly
after arrival.

A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Later on Wednesday three men and a women were arrested in connection with the investigation and questioned. Two men, aged 57 and 37 were released with no further action, while a man aged 31 and a 42 year-old woman were bailed to return pending further enquiries.
