Second Man Charged with Brook Green Murder


Suspect named as Ireneusz Mydlarz of Edgware

A second man has been charged with the murder of William John Saunderson-Smith in Brook Green on October 21.

Ireneusz Mydlarz, 36, of Broomgrove Gardens, Edgware was due to appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 28 charged with the murder of 58 year-old Mr Saunderson-Smith, a property developer who was found dead at his home in Dewhurst Road, W6.

Mydlarz was arrested in Harrow on Thursday, November 24. Builder Slawomir Bugajewski, 38, of Braid Avenue in Acton has already been charged with the killing.

A post mortem examination held at Fulham mortuary gave the cause of Mr Saunderson-Smith's death as head injury.

Following the murder, police said forensic officers searched two addresses used by Mr Saunderson-Smith, in Dewhurst Road, W14, and Sedlescombe Road in SW6 and seized approximately £150,000 in cash found in several plastic bags, lying about in the properties.

An incident room is still open at Hendon under Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Howard Groves (HSCC).
