Appeal for Help over Central Line Attacks
Transport Police seek man following two separate assaults
British Transport Police are appealing for information about two separate incidents that took place on the Central Line on Friday September 20.
PC Gemma Ryan, the investigating officer, says:
"
Around 11.50am the first victim, a 30-year old woman from Waltham Forest, was onboard a westbound Central line train and became aware of a man acting strangely opposite her.
"As she left the train at Bond Street the man struck her on the left hand side of her face with the back of his hand. The woman was left with slight bruising and a bloodshot eye."
PC Ryan adds: " The second incident happened around 15 minutes later on the eastbound Central line platform at Shepherd's Bush.
"The victim, a 26 year-old woman from Hammersmith, was struck in the face by a man who was walking in the opposite direction."
Enquiries are ongoing into both assaults and officers have released two CCTV images of a man they believe could hold key information vital to the investigation.
PC Ryan says: " The assaults were random and unprovoked, leaving both women understandably very upset.
"We don’t tolerate violence anywhere on the London Underground network and I’d urge anyone who recognises the man pictured, or has any information that could help our investigation, to please contact us."
