Tributes Paid to Victim as Man is Charged with Acton Murder

Jenny Foote was "loving and caring person" who worked at Perryn Road hostel

Police have arrested and charged 47 year Michael Meanza after a woman's body was discovered in Perryn Road, Acton on Monday 27 July.

A murder investigation has been launched after police were called at 6.40am to the property to a report that a woman in her thirties had been injured. After their arrival paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police have named her as Jenny Foote, 38, a care worker of Thornberry Court, Craven Park in NW10.

In a statement her family said, "We were devastated to hear of the tragic death of our daughter, sister and cousin, Jenny Ann-Marie Foote. Jenny was a loving and caring person who always saw the good in people. As a young woman Jenny was a creative individual with a love of fine art and she had the ability to see the beauty in everyone.

“It comes as a shock to find that someone like Jenny could be killed in such horrific circumstances for doing the job she loved, caring for vulnerable people. Jenny was aware of the risks in her chosen occupation, nonetheless she carried out her work with dedication, compassion, love and understanding for those less fortunate then herself.

"Jenny always greeted you with a smile and had a calming and placid nature about her. She was loved by all her family and friends and her absence will be like a hole in our hearts.

"During this time of sadness we would like our privacy to mourn her death and respectfully request that we are given that time to reflect and remember the wonderful and beautiful person that she was, without any further intrusion."

Meanza who was previously known as Michael Condon and suffers from schizophrenia was a resident at the hostel and left the premises at approximately 6.30am (27 July) he was arrested later that day.

A 51-year-old man was also arrest but was later released without charge.

It is the second murder this year to have taken place in the area. Terry Longman was killed in Cumberland Park this March and Giuseppe Lomedico, aged 54, will be appearing at the Old Bailey this September charged with his murder.

The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge, Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).
