Easter Holiday Activities Start on Monday April 14


Including sports, music and dance workshops and events for disabled people

Between Monday April 14 and Saturday April 26, a wide variety of activities have been lined up for young people aged 11 to 19, including sports sessions, music and dance workshops plus activities for disabled people aged up to 25.

Two weeks of events begin with a basketball and multisport camp on April 14 at Hurlingham and Chelsea School, in Peterborough Road, Fulham. The camp, which runs until April 17, takes place from 11am to 3pm each day.

Sporting activities are taking place across the borough during the Easter holidays, with young people also able to take advantage of table tennis, football training and tournaments, kayaking, swimming and tennis sessions at a range of venues.

To mark the end of the two week break, a borough-wide sports championships is taking place at Linford Christie Stadium, by Wormwood Scrubs on Friday April 25 from 3pm to 6pm.

The borough’s young performers are also being given opportunities to hone their skills, with street dance classes, singing workshops and acting classes scheduled throughout the holidays. Then, on Friday April 25, young people aged 11 to 19 have the chance to enter Hammersmith’s Got Talent. The event at Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush will see performers of all varieties compete to be crowned the 2014 champion, with trophies and prizes for the top three contestants.

Also on offer as part of the huge array of activities are sessions specialising in art and fashion, including design workshops, animation and photography master classes.

In addition, activities and services are available for disabled people aged up to 25. This includes the Action on Disability youth service holiday programme, which features arts, drama, music production, cooking and gardening workshops. It takes place at the Greswell Centre in Fulham between 9.30am and 4pm every day from April 14 to April 25, except for Good Friday and Easter Monday.
