"If you need to register, I would urge you to do this as soon as possible, and not leave it until the last moment," says Kim Smith, Chief Executive of H&F Council. "If you're not registered to vote, then you won’t be able to have your say in these elections."

If you’re a citizen of another EU country, living in H&F, you can choose to vote in the UK, or in your home country.

To vote in the UK, you must be registered to vote and also fill in the European Parliament voter registration form (pdf 154KB). This must received by the council no later than Tuesday 7 May.

If you don’t complete and return this form, you won’t be able to vote in the European Parliamentary Elections in this borough.

European countries have differing voting rules for their citizens when they are living abroad. You can find out more about the rules in your home country by visiting the European Parliament website or by contacting your embassy or consulate.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 23 May – find out where your polling station is.

If you’re away or can’t go to the polling station on 23 May, you can do one of the following:

  • apply to vote by post – the deadline to apply is 5pm, Wednesday 8 May
  • apply to vote by proxy (this means someone can vote on your behalf at your polling station). The deadline to apply is 5pm, Wednesday 15 May.

Download an application form to vote by post or proxy.

Emergency Proxies

If it is after 5pm on 15 May, and you're unable to vote at your polling station because you have a medical emergency or learn that you can’t go to the polling station because of work reasons, you should contact us to apply to vote by emergency proxy.

If you need help or advice, please contact H&F Electoral Services on 020 8753 4466, or at Room 28, Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, London, W6 9JU.
