Firefighters Tackle Major Blaze in Shepherd's Bush Tower Block


120 firefighters on scene of fire on seventh, eighth and ninth floors

120 firefighters from 10 local stations are tackling a major fire on the seventh, eighth and ninth floors of a high rise block of flats overlooking Shepherd's Bush Green.

London Fire Brigade says it was alerted at 3.44pm this afternoon and 20 fire engines are attenting the fire in the 18 storey building.

Smoke from the blaze can be seen across the area and 999 control officers have taken over 40 emergency calls to the incident.

Crews from Hammersmith, Kensington, Acton, Chiswick, Paddington, Fulham, Park Royal, Battersea, Wandsworth, Brixton and fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage, and it is not known if anyone has been injured.
