30 Affordable New Homes Coming Soon to Shepherd's Bush

Sixties office block Apex Court to be converted by Pocket Living

Hammersmith and Fulham residents who are priced out of the private housing market could soon have the opportunity to pocket a new home in Shepherd's Bush.

Developers Pocket Living, who specialise in building contemporary, stylish homes at affordable prices, have been granted permission by Hammersmith and Fulham to convert Apex Court, a sixties office building just off Goldhawk Road, in to 30 new apartments.

The new homes have been designed by Brady Mallalieu Architects, who say: "30 new flats are created by converting a 1960's office building for developer Pocket.

" The flats are specifically aimed towards the needs and requirements of young home buyers trying to gain a foothold on the London property ladder and are designed to 'Pocket' principles.

" Features such as individual 'grow your own' allotments and bicycle maintenance areas respond to the growing demands of urban living.

"A palette of new materials has been chosen to work with the aged and slightly weathered materials of the existing, which will provide the building with a fresh, clean aesthetic."

Pocket Living's current developments include Star Road, off North End Road in London W14, where H&F Council has teamed up with the developer to sell the 18 apartments on the new site at just 80 per cent of the market value.

This means that the starting price for a studio is under £150,000 and a one bed £220,000. The development comprises 14 one beds and four studios. and each apartment has been carefully designed by award winning architects PRP to create a space where residents will feel at home.

Anyone who currently either lives or works in Hammersmith & Fulham and has done so for at least a year, is not already a home owner and has a current household income below £64,000, can register to buy a Pocket apartment.

In order to express your interest in these apartments you must first register with H&F Home Buy by completing an online application form at H&F Home Buy. For help with registration, contact h&f Home Buy on 020 8753 6464.

Though further details of the new Pocket Living development have not yet been released, it is expected that a similar offer will be available to home buyers in Shepherd's Bush.
