Help Fill the Foodbank at Your Local Library

Customers can donate tinned or dried food for people in crisis

Three of our libraries have teamed up with Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank to provide food bins where customers can donate tinned and dried goods for redistribution to people in crisis.

Hammersmith, Askew Road and Shepherd's Bush Libraries eachl each have a small food bin for any customer wishing to donate food, which must be 'in-date'.

This food will be collected regularly by the Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank, which is part of a national project started by the Thrussell Trust. So far this financial year, the Foodbank has distributed 10,000 meals to people going through a crisis in out borough.

The Foodbank has two centres in Fulham and Shepherd's Bush and says that the centre at St Simon's in Rockley Road will be closed during August.

Clients, who are people identified by care professionals as those in need and given vouchers for the food, are asked instead to visit the Fulham Distribution Centre, at Christ Church Fulham in Studdridge Street.
