Residents invited to new committee's first meeting in White City

Shepherd's Bush residents are being invited to the first meeting on Monday July 7 of a new committee which aims to work with residents to improve the local environment, transport and community safety.

The Community Safety, Environment and Residents Services Policy and Accountability Committee, or PAC, will give residents and local businesses an opportunity to develop policy and discuss ongoing Council initiatives. The upcoming meeting will cover:

The police in H&F - including an update from Chief Inspector Simon Causer on local police priorities.

Cycling in the borough - helping the council better understand the views and concerns of local cyclists.

Wormholt Park works update - featuring a presentation on the works at Wormholt Park followed by a public Q&A.

Air quality - including a report from the Bi-Borough Environmental Quality Manager on air pollution levels in H&F.

Committee chair, Cllr Larry Culhane, says: "We are determined to give residents and local businesses a greater say in decisions that impact them.

"If any of the topics due to be discussed on Monday night are close to your heart then please do come along and take part. Likewise, if there are other issues you feel we should be tackling please get in touch and let us know."

PACs will formulate council policy in public and hold cabinet members to account.

The committee, which consists of two Conservative and three Labour councillors, plans to meet again in September and November this year.
