Hammersmith Summer Festival Extended for Rio Olympic Games


Showing sporting highlights on the big screen in Lyric Square from August 5

Hammersmith's annual Summer Festival is being extended into August so that local people can enjoy the upcoming Rio Olympics on the big screen.

HammersmithLondon, which runs the annual festival says that dur to popular demand, it will be showing highlights from the 2016 Rio Olympic Games on the Big Screen in Lyric Square.

Sports fans will be able to cheer on their favourite athletes as they compete for gold in Brazil during the two week long games, running from August 5-21.

This is the latest addition to the very popular Summer Festival line-up, which has so far included coverage of Wimbledon, a series of innovative outdoor theatre performances, a live stream of Il Trovatore from the Royal Opera House, lunchtime picnicking, al fresco yoga, table tennis and more.

This is the ninth year that the HammersmithLondon Business Improvement District (BID) has organised a programme of cultural events and activities to help invigorate the town centre for workers, residents and visitors.
